Colorado Hawks Coaching Alum Wins State Championship

Last season Overland High School was not expected to make it to the final four.  Popular belief was that due to the team being very young, Overland was one year away.  That was never the belief of Coach Danny Fisher.  Coach Fisher invested into each and every one of his players and convinced them to believe they were ready.  His mantra, ‘Respect The Process” could be heard echoed through their practices.  As the season wore on, his team began to Respect The Process.  As they began to Respect The Process, their season moved towards a magical run to the Final Four.  The season did not end as they desired, but the foundation was solidified.

Coach Fisher’s investment in young men and his transformation into a coach that could convince a young team to compete every time they stepped on the floor did not start three years ago.  Coach Fisher began his coaching development working with the youth of the non-profit Colorado Hawks organization.  Throughout the numerous years of volunteering his time as a member of the Colorado Hawks coaching staff, Coach Fisher has invested in some of the top talent that has graced the courts of Colorado.  No, not every child he has invested in, has repaid him by attending Overland High School, but instead they have repaid him, by competing at the highest level possible.  Coach Fisher gets rewarded seeing a young man he helped develop play well, go to college whether on a scholarship or not, and become great young men in the community.
His involvement helping the Colorado Hawks become one of the best basketball organizations in Colorado, has been invaluable.  By learning how to connect with young men, develop them and prepare them for life outside of the gymnasium, Coach Danny, has been able to develop several Colorado Hawks players and help them make it to college.  He has held the young men to a higher standard and supported their educational development.
The Colorado Hawks have been blessed to have a man of Coach Danny’s character as a Coaching Alum of the Colorado Hawks.  We are so proud of the job he has done with the youth in the Community and with the young men of Overland high school.  Five of his current players are going to play division 1 basketball and that is a direct reflection of the investment he has put into his team.
Thank you Coach Danny for supporting the Colorado Hawks, players, coaches, alumni, and the Colorado community.   We are extremely proud to see you continue to grow as a coach, father and man.
